The Sunshine Coast has so much on offer it’s hard to decide what to squeeze in to your stay. Here’s an example of what 2 days on the Sunshine Coast could look like:
Day 1: Check in to your accommodation and spend a few hours unwinding with a swim in the pool, followed by an afternoon stroll along the beach. Head out for dinner at one of the local restaurants, such as Three Bar & Grill which is located on site at Portobello by the Sea or at nearby Dicky Beach Surf Club, then retreat to your room to watch a movie or some TV with a good selection of cable channels as well as a DVD player in your apartment.
Day 2: Rise early and head down the beach to watch the sunrise on Dicky Beach, grab a coffee from one of the local cafes then return to your apartment to cook up a delicious breakfast in your fully self-contained apartment with full kitchen.
Option: Animal Lovers
Spend the morning checking out the aquatic animals at Sea Life Sunshine Coast (general opening hours from 9am to 5pm daily), grab some lunch in Mooloolaba and then head to Australia Zoo (general opening hours from 9am to 5pm daily), for an afternoon of crocodiles, wildlife shows, hand feeding kangaroos, cuddling koalas and whole lot more!
Option: Foodies Delight
Take a scenic drive to beautiful Maleny where you’ll find Maleny Cheese and Maleny Mountain Wines, then it’s up the coast to Yandina where you can sample delicious macadamias at Nutworks and browse the amazing ginger products at The Ginger Factory, on the way home why not stop in at The Pub at Aussie World for a drink.
Option: Adrenalin Junkie
If extreme is your thing, the Sunshine Coast has you covered! Just choose your favourite activity or two. How about a Mooloolaba Jet Boat Ride, Shark Dive Xtreme at Sea Life Sunshine Coast or perhaps skydiving?!
In the evening why not make the most of the Queensland climate with use of the onsite electric BBQ facilities at Portobello by the Sea and enjoy dinner by the pool, before heading in to Caloundra to catch the latest movies at Big Screen Cinemas Caloundra or perhaps a game or two of bowling at Spinners Bar & Bowl.
Day 3: Treat yourself to breakfast at one of the local restaurants such as The Giggling Goat Emporium followed by a leisurely swim at the beach. Then lounge around the pool until check out time.
Got some time left? After check out why not pay a visit to Queensland Air Museum before you head home.
Good to know: Dicky Beach has an IGA Xpress, butcher and bakery where you can pick up supplies to self-cater. There are also more supermarkets including a Woolworths and a Coles in nearby Caloundra.
