Open Cockpit Weekend at Queensland Air Museum

Ever dreamed of sitting in the cockpit of a vintage plane? Queensland Air Museum are holding an ‘Open Cockpit Weekend’ these coming school holidays on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July.

Several aircraft will have their cockpits open for public inspection, visitors to the event will have the chance to sit in the cockpits of selected aircraft including the iconic F-111, WESSEX, DC3, and Starship.

The 2017 Open Cockpit Weekend at Queensland Air Museum will also feature:

  • ‘Planes’ Fire & Rescue Jumping Castle, free for kids.
  • Star War characters
  • Airport flight line display of vintage aircraft
  • Sausage sizzle, plus other food options and a coffee van
  • Memorabilia on sale in the shop (10% discount with family pass)
  • Classic car displays

Entry costs: $15 Adults, $8 Children $35 Family Pass, Concession/student $10.  The event will operate from: 9am to 4pm on the weekend of 1st-2nd July.

Rollerdome Family Skate Centre Caloundra

Caloundra Sunshine Coast roller skatingIf you’re visiting the Caloundra area on holiday and looking for an affordable family-friendly activity then check out the Rollerdome Family Skate Centre. It’s a great way to entertain the kids and have fun together.

Rollerdome offers general skate sessions, learn to skate classes (learn to skate, artistic skating and Under 7s tiny tots on skates), birthday parties and also runs special events.

Some of the current events include:
‘Let’s Rebuild Lismore’ – Rollerdome will donate $2 per admission from every Saturday night session for the month of April and May to the Lismore rink rebuild.

‘Glow Skate’ – Friday 26th May
Held from 6pm to 9pm
Entry is $15 (plus $5.50 skate hire per person)
Entry includes Free Glow Sticks.
