The Queensland Air Museum is located at Caloundra Airport and is a great Sunshine Coast attraction for families and aviation enthusiasts.

You’ll discover an impressive aircraft collection including Fighters, Bombers, Helicopters, Airliners, Replicas, Recon, Sport and much more!

Entry to the Queensland Air Museum is affordable with Family passes (2 adults and up to 3 kids under the age of 16 years) available for $30.00, Single Adult tickets cost $13.00, Concession $10.00, and a single children’s ticket $7.00. They also accept the Companion Disability Card.

At QAM they also host popular annual events such as the Open Cockpit Weekend and Engines Alive day.

Open Cockpit Weekend at Queensland Air Museum

Ever dreamed of sitting in the cockpit of a vintage plane? Queensland Air Museum are holding an ‘Open Cockpit Weekend’ these coming school holidays on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July.

Several aircraft will have their cockpits open for public inspection, visitors to the event will have the chance to sit in the cockpits of selected aircraft including the iconic F-111, WESSEX, DC3, and Starship.

The 2017 Open Cockpit Weekend at Queensland Air Museum will also feature:

  • ‘Planes’ Fire & Rescue Jumping Castle, free for kids.
  • Star War characters
  • Airport flight line display of vintage aircraft
  • Sausage sizzle, plus other food options and a coffee van
  • Memorabilia on sale in the shop (10% discount with family pass)
  • Classic car displays

Entry costs: $15 Adults, $8 Children $35 Family Pass, Concession/student $10.  The event will operate from: 9am to 4pm on the weekend of 1st-2nd July.

Engines Alive Day

The Queensland Air Museum presents its collection of historic operational aircraft engines at the Engines Alive Day on Saturday 7 January at Caloundra Aerodrome.

The museum boasts a large array of operational engines and aircraft covering a range of engine designs dating from the 1940’s. During the day you have the opportunity to inspect the engines between runs and talk to the volunteers who did the restorations.

There will also be loads of things to keep the kids entertained,  including WW2 jeep rides, a BBQ sausage sizzle all day, hot and cold drinks plus the fun of inspecting all the aircraft and related displays.

Admission: $15 Adults, $8 Children
